The photograph claims to show Christmas 1994. Iris Bell is standing in it-wearing a coat she bought six days ago.
After her mother's death, photographic conservator Iris returns to snowbound Bellweather House to document the family estate. Behind a sealed wall, she finds an old portrait containing a seventh figure nobody will name: Iris herself.
The deeper she searches, the less the evidence agrees. Birth records have been altered. Hidden passages connect rooms that should not meet. A camera advances in the dark, although nobody touched it. Then the road closes, a relative disappears, and Iris realizes someone inside the house is still editing the family's past.
Every photograph preserves a choice. Every record conceals a cost. Before Christmas Eve is over, Iris must discover who created the impossible portrait-and why they need her to remain the woman nobody remembers.
An atmospheric Christmas psychological thriller about buried identities, dangerous family secrets, and the evidence people will destroy to control.
