Using a quote from her book, Mrs. Ringo cites Mark Twain as saying, "My books are water; those of great geniuses are wine. Everybody drinks water." Mrs. Ringo's book is of wine, but everyone should drink of it, nonetheless. I claim to know this as I've read them all, every quotation book of note that has been issued over the last twenty years, and this one may be the best. Her virtuosity in research and discernment inspires awe. One reads through the gems in her book and becomes as enthralled with sensibility of the mind that found, selected and organized them as much as with the gems themselves. What an interesting person, you must be, Mrs. Ringo. Why did you not write anything else??? Thank you, oh thank you, at least for this - for the chance to brush against your soul, if only fleetingly, as through the spaces between the books on the shelves at the Library of Man.
