Tracing China's economic reform over more than three decades - from its origins and the gradual establishment of a market system to the challenging "deep-water" reforms and beyond - this book identifies six core logics: the cyclical nature of reform and the need for consensus; the systemic interdependence of reforms; the three-dimensional integration of reform, development, and stability; the alignment of theory and practice; the synergy of top-down planning and grassroots experimentation; and the imperative of global competitiveness.
