"Heroic Ambition: Constructing a Panoramic Genealogy of Chinese Heroes

The history of the Qing Dynasty is a tapestry of darkness and light, autocracy and expansion, narrow-mindedness and grandeur-intertwined and coexisting. It is a history that evokes both bewilderment and a sense of temporal disorientation.

Spanning nearly three centuries, the Qing rulers forged ahead through the Shanhai Pass, expanded their territories in all directions, implemented reforms to eradicate弊端, and meticulously strategized. Yet they also massacred civilians, enforced harsh policies, tolerated corrupt governance, and clung to stagnation. Particularly under Nurhaci, Hong Taiji, Shunzhi, Kangxi, Yongzheng, and Qianlong, they constructed a vast ""multi-ethnic community"" with expansive borders, pioneered unique approaches to ""Sinicization,"" achieved monumental feats of ""unification,"" and demonstrated exceptionally shrewd statecraft... Across millions of square kilometers, they successfully established a distinctive new political order. What they bestowed upon the world was not merely bloodshed and sighs, but also epic glory and groundbreaking ideas
