Book made you feel like you were right there on the sight with the bears.. Made for exciting and interesting reading.Danford has a way of "putting you" in the settings of his books.Knowing the author as I do,,,makes it personal and up front. Good reading.

Mike Danford could be the Hans Christian Andersen for adults

there isn't one of us who hasn't wished we could talk to the animals and have them respond by telling us how they really feel and what's important to them. No Sudden Moves is a touching, funny fairytale for the kid in all of us. This book is just plain good reading; you can't go wrong on this one. I think Danford also has potential as workshop leader. Look out John Gray! I for one would love to learn Louie's techniques for communicating with the female species. I mean afterall if you can converse with a grizzly bear, there might even be hope for me and my wife.

A fast read, good yarn.

'No Sudden Moves' my foot! On the contrary, one wonders, not 'if', but when track shoes need be on the starting blocks. I've met wild bears on humorous terms...but Danford's book is pure whimsy, no corny stretches either. Add points for originality. Possible? 'Pawsible,' maybe. Either way, 'tis a darn good yarn.

Liked the book and was worth the money.

Mike's style is a little different but comes off well and he ends up with a fine story that both my wife and I found fun to read. The bear is the big star in this one and has to make you smile.

Mirrors the great outdoors which inspired it's creation.

This story is a grungy, unassuming adult fairytale with a naturalistic, philosophical tone. For anyone who respects or merely enjoys the singular mystery of high wilderness, No Sudden Moves! is a delightful fantasy with it's paws planted firmly on the ground. Blatantly anthropomorphic, this book makes no apologies for it's impossible plot, and gets away with it. The story conveys a simple grandeur that mirrors the great outdoors which inspired it's creation; I'm immensely proud of my father and his first novel. A definite "must read" for those with a yearning for fresh air and a curiosity about the mighty grizzly bear!
