Set in Manhattan, No Place For Charlie shows how Charlie Drummer becomes disenfranchised, how he loses his parents, his eye, his wife and child, and ultimately, his life. He becomes his own worst enemy by virtue of the thoughts he chooses and encourages. He demonstrates that it is not always what happens to us that matters most, but rather how we respond - how we think and feel about what happens to us. His story also shows how we each have the potential to uplift our neighbor or contribute to his despair.
