The TV series 2015 – 2018 is designed to be a standard British witty police comedy-drama. It actually tries to follow the formula.
Unfortunately, it has a slew of drawbacks. First, they rattle too fast with a slur of British speech impediments that includes lesser-known idioms. Then, if you cannot make out what they are saying, you can go through the program with subtitles. You will have to pause the action to read the titles and interpret them. Next, we have to think like them to extrapolate anything that is supposed to be humor. The actors who have been in hundreds of other programs are not recognizable and seem amateurish. Then there is no environment, real or imaginary, such as this ridiculous police station.
I could go on, but as you have guessed, I did not finish the series, as I have no intention of wasting time that can be spent on good programs. Even “Dr. Who” is better designed.
