Under the Haystack published by Thomas Nelson 1973, was nominated for the Newberry Award; reviewed in Kirkus and the NY Times, received a movie option from a Canadian firm, Jodi Foster to play leading role. Option not exercised.

The next two decades were dedicated to Pat's custom home building company. As a result of the 1974 Barge Canal Flood destroying their home, Pat embarked on a career path few women pursued, custom home building: L&L Developers Inc. Rochester, NY. specialized in building contemporary homes on difficult terrain bringing west coast development ideas to the northeast.
It was their daughter's suicide that brought Pat back to writing...
a ten-year project: Five years before she could bring herself to open LJ's small trunk that housed her private journals; and an added five years-in the creation. With the help of Createspace, Pat selected LJ's poems, songs, art and with her own added notes with each selection she began to write of LJ's personal agony with BPD.
When Love Is Not Enough. Chronicles of LauraJo.was published in 2012.Chronicles received PINNACLE'S 'Achievement- of- the- Year 'award and was selected by Professor R Jordan at St. John Fisher College in Rochester New York as a textbook for her Advanced Psychology course. A young woman's struggle to overcome depression written in her own words through journal entries provides insights rarely available in professional journals.
In 2000 Pat joined Ron in retirement. Her priority remains: family, friends, garden -and, of course, their new puppy Shitzu "Cinnamon" who rules the roost.
