It Changed my Life

I read this book for the 1st time right after I became a new Christian almost 20 years ago. It changed my life. The title that Melody used for this book perfectly described Keith Green's heart. He made many mistakes and was often over zealous in his faith, but what inspired me the most was his complete trust in God at all costs. He gave up the opportunity to be rich and famous according to the world's standards, and in turn became rich and famous according to God's standards. I recently read this book again and cried so hard I couldn't breathe. Not so much for Keith & his family, but for myself, that I wish that I had even a fraction of the faith and zeal that Keith had.

This Book Will Change Your Life

This is one of the best books I've ever read, it's my favorite book next to the bible. Keith's music changed my life and so has his story. I've read the book at least 3 times now, and every time I read it, another area of the book stands out and ministers to me. This book shows Keith as he matures in his christian walk,which is really helpful to any maturing Christian, to see the details of another's walk with Christ.Keith Green was a sold-out man to Jesus, like we all should be. It's a book of inspiriation, challenge, and it will change you.

A very engaging story about a passionate Christian musician

No Compromise is the perfect title for this book, because Keith Green did not compromise when it came to the Christian life. He loved Jesus more than anything else in the world, and it comes through in this biography written by his widow Melody Green. You will read of Keith's early interest in spiritual things, his life in the 70's hippie sub-culture, his shattering conversion to Christ in response to the Spirit-filled preaching of Kenn Gullickson, (and his wife's conversion the following week), and his excitement at coming to know Jesus. You also read of his zeal in winning people to the Lord, and how over the course of months, he felt the leading of the Lord to make Christian music albums. You read of his love for the writings of the Rev. Charles Finney, and his desire to see people totally broken and spilled out before the Lord in repentance and faith. You read of his later interest in world missions, and his tragic death in a plane crash (along with his son Josiah and daughter Bethany and others who were on board). Melody then has a brief appendix illustrating how keiths music stills fans into flame the fire of faith in the lives of so many. I am one of those people, and I highly recommend this stirring biography.

If you are you looking for answers to life's questions or if you are a Christian dissatisfied with complacent, commercialized, and fake Christianity, this biography of Keith Green's life is for you. Being a student, I'm not usually interested in reading any more books than I have to for class, but I couldn't put this book down. After reading a few pages, I went out and bought 2 of Keith's CD's. I'm 19 and the style of his music is not exactly what my generation listens to, but his music and this book are full of transparent passion that's so addicting! I want all my friends to read this book, so I'm passing it around. But at the same time, I want to hold on to it so I can be inspired again and again. This book consists of journal entries written by Keith and song lyrics mixed with his crazy humor. It reveals Keith's searching for something more in life and his finding--Jesus Christ. Never have I read about such an average guy who was transformed into someone with such a burning desire to serve the Lord and a nakedness before God!This book has challenged me to re-evaluate what is eternally important in my life. Keith is dead, but his testimony lives on and I want to continue his dream of reaching the lost with hope of a Savior. Thank you Melody, for sharing the life of your husband with those who weren't alive at the time of Keith's ministry. His testimony has changed my life.

No compromise in a world of desperate compromise

I first heard of Keith Green through a pastor friend of mine. He introduced me to Keith's music and after much convincing I began to listen. Keith's music was very 70's and nothing that I was used to, being from an 80's generation. Thankfully, I listened deeper, to the message behind the music. I think Keith could vocalize in words what many Christians feel in their hearts. We have a desperate desire to love God despite the outcome, without compromise to the world and its standards. Keith's struggles and battles are portrayed well in this book. After reading it, I felt as though I knew a brother in Christ intimently. Keith's heart comes out vividly in this book and I think this book will appeal to so many people because, in all actuality, we Christians have the same heart as Keith did. We all have the heart of Christ. If you aren't a Christian, please read this book. You will be bombarded with what true life is and how one man experienced that freedom through the sacrifice of Christ. May God bless the reader.
