Dima was trained by the KGB in counter surveillance. His trainer reported Dima was a sociopath. The decision to keep him came from KGB Chairman Vitali Fedorchuk. He lectured the counter surveillance director, "Like many of our undercover people, Dima is handsome, charming, intelligent, superficial, outwardly friendly and deadly, Those qualities fit well with the work he's trained for."
Dima was sent to Los Angeles. His mission was to make friends with Soviet immigrants who worked in the defense industry and recruit them as spies. There were 100,000 people from Russian speaking countries just in West Hollywood.
The Russian Embassy gave him Red Ferrari to ensue every target noticed him and wanted to be invited to the notorious naked pool parties at his lavish home in the Hollywood Hills.
When asked what he did for a living, he said, "I am an observer of the politics and values of Southern California as illegals, cocaine and gangs change its nature. The big bosses in Moscow don't believe people from the Embassy who go home to their swimming pools in the Valley like everyone else.
He fought the urge to torture and kill until the late 70s, when he was inspired by the Hillside Strangler. If he can get away with it so can I.
His first victim was a woman of 28 in the area for three years after crossing the Ukrainian border into Poland. She worked as a prostitute to get to West Germany and then to America.
He kept her nipple as a trophy. It fueled his killing lust. Within a year there were ten unsolved murders of young Soviet women in West Hollywood, all with one nipple bitten off.
TV loved it. Pretty blonde girls tortured raped and murdered. The entire Russian community demonstrated in front of the Sheriff's West Hollywood Substation at Universal City. Tourists stopped going to Universal.
Stock holders sold their shares. Management kicked politicians' ass, in turn they kicked law enforcement ass. Cops and undercover FBI agents were transferred to the Nipple Biter murders in West Hollywood.
The KGB feared he'd be captured and trade information to avoid the death penalty. They sent an assassin to make him disappear eliminating the Soviet connection.
Reagan sent Niki Ivanovitch to kill the assassin and capture the Nipple Biter.
Not for those who are offended by blowtorch to the testicles during interrogation of Communist suspects.
