I am not usually a murder mystery fan, but every aspect, movement, action and breath of each character had me at the edge of my seat gasping for air. I think I finished this book in like 3 days. I was completely glued from beginning to end, and I recommend it to anyone looking to part themselves from this safe boring world for a moment, and get swept into a serial murder case with so many twists and turns that will stump even the most cynical puzzle-solving of readers. Buy this book, and you won't be disappointed. -P. Patel
Wow what a thriller

This is a unique and fast paced whodoneit. Right off the bat we know who done it but we don't know why. Even the hitman doesn't know why, and doesn't care except that it's obvious almost immediately that the wrong man has been killed. What follows is a race to uncover and stop the hitman and for the hitman to make the right hit. This novel is infused with Chicago Jazz and we learn almost as much about the theory of Jazz as we do about the Chicago Mob. We are introduced to the title character in the first scene but it takes three quarters of the book before we discover why he's anything but a minor character. A fascinating read with dozens of twists and turns. We are surprised over and over again right up till the last page.
