Longing laid bare....

It takes guts to put one's feelings out in the world for people to misconstrue and pick apart. This is a very personal account of a man finding love in a foreign country. He was not looking to "buy" a woman, as one reviewer suggested, but instead appeared to have found someone to share his life with. And, at age 39, I hardly think Lana was a naive child. While the book needed editing, I enjoyed the honesty and voice of the writing and found it emotionally affecting. I am hoping for a happily ever after.......the author is a terrific guy.

Heart Warming Story.

This book is filled with great thoughts on perceptions, and life changing experiences. I was taken by the authors honesty as he really put himself out there for a lot of critcism but to his credit he took a very deep prespective of his life and how he viewed others. The last few chapters were tear jerkers for me and his emotional roller coaster has you wishing for more. This was a quick read and a very enjoyable one. I laughed, cried and even got mad a few times. It made me want to go to Russia! I wanted to know what happened to the people he had encountered. I had to smile at the very last page. I wonder how many readers missed that? It took me from heart broken to eleated in minutes! If you are a romantic, or just want to view a unique perspective of cultural differences, this book has it all....Bravo!

I'm a Witness

Knowing Mark for 20 years, I have always admired him as a leader. But, I was truly amazed at the transformation of the man from his "Nine Days in Moscow". Mark exposes the "American propaganda" that had prejudiced his early views, as the case with most Americans. Mark unashamedly, displays his hardened emotions as well as a hardened lifestyle, all of which came crumbling down with a new outlook on life and love, all within 4 days, meeting the real folks of Russia and while trying to communicate with an almost uncommunicable Russian country girl. Ten years later, it is hard to believe how those "Nine Days in Moscow" has transformed the man with a new outlook on life and lives that warrants a self-examination for us all. How Lana touched Mark's life, touched my own as well. A must-read!

A TRUE LOVE STORY

THIS BOOK IS EXACTLY WHAT THE BACK COVER SAYS. IT MADE ME LAUGH AND CRY. IT IS DEFINITELY A LOVE STORY. IT TALKS OF HATE, LOVE, FAITH AND CHANGE. EVEN THOUGH IT'S CALLED 9 DAYS IN MOSCOW, IT COVERS MANY YEARS OF THE AUTHORS LIFE. BY THE TIME YOU ARE DONE WITH IT YOU WILL BELIEVE THAT TRUE LOVE STILL EXISTS. IT'S THE TYPE OF LOVE WE ALL SEEK FOR AND SELDOM FIND. A GREAT LOVE STORY.
