Atrocious, lazy, and likely AI

I've hosted a Goosebumps podcast for over a decade so please believe me when I say this is one of the worst kids horror books I've ever read. R.L. isn't even trying with this. He describes this book as an 'everything bagel' in that all tropes and horror ideas are just tossed in here. It's impossible logic as explained as being in an endless nightmare, but its miserable, not mysterious. And this is speculation, but the book seems written by GenAI. The sentences repeat, flat and lifeless. There is NOTHING to these characters. They're just placeholders with no details or personality. Just pawns moved to a new 2-page chapter. Like a mindless child on a carnival slow-train ride. There is no editor credited. And the cover has several telltale signs of AI. Parts of the house clip into each other, windows don't make sense, etc. If Stein wrote this himself he should be just as embarrassed. Avoid.
