Police Officer Mischa Haljak and his sister Marie are enjoying a blessed life in Prague when the shadow of the Third Reich fell over Czechoslovakia. Marie and her husband are rounded up and sent by train north to a concentration camp while Mischa could do nothing to keep it from happening. In his grief he left the city for the mountains. As eventual leader of a mountain based Resistance group, Mischa travels back to Prague to enlist the help of Hans Dette, the most knowledgeable radio technician in the country. Things were different in Prague, and Mischa dealt with Czechs he was unsure of including a woman he was drawn to, and the radio technician he questioned . The mission was impacted by collaboration from an unexpected source that made their escape on the night train from Prague questionable.
