Nicolina's Gift

Nicolina is an energetic and enthusiastic girl who is trying to understand her place in the world. She loves school, making friends and little things like being first in line and being called to read out loud by the teacher. However, she is upset when her "bff" doesn't sit next to her at lunch and when she isn't chosen as "the tagger" at recess. Her day is filled with triumphs and disappointments. Trying to control everything and dealing with "cool and hot moments" is exhausting and emotional and leads to a meltdown in front of her dad. After some discoveries about life from a colony of ants and her "stuffies" in her bedroom, Nicolina starts to understand the importance of community and her role within it. She learns how to shift her thinking and become observant and tolerant of the world around her, allowing Nicolina to find more calm and "cool" moments. That is when she is finally able to give herself "The Gift" of peace and balance.
