To Warm Daddy's Heart!

I wish the Nicky books were not so hard to get, as kids just love them. There is really not much to them at all, except that they win the kids attention more than any other book for the first couple of years.This book is about Daddy taking his boy (Nicky) for a walk. Nicky is so excited about all the neat things they see and do on this walk. They eat donuts and drink milk together. The illustrations show a lot of love between father and son. Children are drawn to this more than the violence that fills our society today.This book also starts to deal with the senses: sight, hearing, smell, touch, and taste. I do not expect a one-year-old to grasp the senses from reading the book, but it is a great teaching tool - a good place to start.I highly recommend this and all the books in the Nicky series!

Baby Loves Nicky!

Babies and young toddlers can't get enough of this book! The vivid, cut-paper illustrations keep little eyes riveted all the way through; and the question and answer format keeps the pages turning. This story is a great opportunity to help children discover their own eyes, ears, nose and hands as they accompany Nicky on a walk to the donut shop. Little ones love the close-ups of Nicky and Daddy; and you can almost feel the sticky donut crumbs on these collage-style illustrations. The simple text lends itself to varying voice inflections, making the story new and exciting each time. And you WILL be reading this one time and time again!
