I do recovery work in Orleans, and I listen to people's stories daily. It's hardly imaginable what many people went through because of Katrina, but this book has really helped me to understand the ordeal on a more personal level. Especially because the book doesn't just represent the story of one person and one perspective, but through the eyes of an entire family Miss Harris tells of the devastating changes that Katrina caused, and how with strength and togetherness, they have overcome. Miss Harris uses her experience, poetry, and perspective in a unique and personal way as a venue for those still hurting to stay strong, and to share with those who are curious about the Katrina experience. Her courage, candidness, and perseverence are inspiring. I highly encourage you to read and be inspired yourself.
Thanks

Finally sat still long enough to read your creation. It is difficult to rate and/or find words to convey my ideas about your book--they are so many. Perhaps I should simply say thanks for sharing your Katrina experience with the world. Again, this event (Katrina) is unprecedented in the history of the U.S.A.--your testimonies help us to remember that the myriad range of emotions for some are as sharp and vivid as if Katrina happened just yesterday. It may be difficult for some to empathize with the people who endured this event as the forces resulting from Katrina are indefinitely elastic and unfathomably multidynamic. As you can see, my review has turned somewhat vague--an indication of the depth of your story or stories; I cannot say one thing or another in specific as it relates to "NICE TRY KATRINA". This book is a MUST READ, trust me--IT WILL ONLY ADD DEPTH TO YOUR SOUL AND RANGE OF CONSCIOUS THOUGHT. Thank You Kendra--Peace, Guidance, Prosperity, Long Life and Infinite Joy to You and those you Love. SABLE
