Please note: This is not a Hollywood style thriller, as produced by Frederick Forsyth or John Grisham, it is a collection of descriptions of how the NHS gives priority to protecting its image, over and above protecting patients or treating staff fairly and equally, written by a whistleblower. The book is fo r staff and patients who have been cruelly treated by the NHS. If you are not in one of the above categories, do NOT buy this book - you will not appreciate the contents! Note, also, the reviewer, who is critical of lack of details concerning the people involved in criminal or immoral treatment of patients and staff, does not understand publishing standards or libel law. There is no such thing as complete FREEDOM OF SPEECH, so authors are constrained in what they write, and it is up to readers to "read between the lines", particularly with respect to identifying some of the anonymised rogues in this book. Sources of information This book is aimed at victims of the NHS cover-up culture, to help them understand the actions taken against them, using anectodal experiences of the following groups: * NHS patients who have suffered avoidable harm, and associated cover-ups. * NHS staff who have suffered detriment for speaking out on behalf of the above. * My own experience as an employee of St George's hospital, Tooting, and doing locum work at hospitals in London and the Home Counties. The National Health Service * The NHS employs bullies, drug users, fake doctors, unqualified nurses, fraudsters, human traffickers, incompetents, liars, money launderers, murderers, sex pests, and thieves. * Preferential recruitment and promotion are determined by favouritism, discrimination, and loyalty to the NHS cover-up culture. * Managers and Directors are driven by the need to protect the image of the hospital and its chief executive, and to achieve targets, at the expense of clinical outcomes. * Any issue that could make NHS officials or the government of the day look incompetent is classed as a vote loser, and is a threat to the position of the relevant chief executive, so it is screened from the press and from public scrutiny - until it reaches the stage where the protective bubble of the cover-up culture is pierced, and the issue becomes public knowledge. Only then are official expressions of "fixing" made which, usually, do not cure the problem, but simply envelope it with a veneer of promises to make improvements, often under the guidance of "Reputation Management" law firms. Synopsis This book is an analysis of the true nature of the NHS, comprising a compendium of topics which, collectively, describe the NHS cover-up culture and some of the corrupt practices that it tries to conceal from the public. Written from the perspective of an NHS Operating Department Practitioner, and whistleblower, NHS Dirty Secrets is a collection of topics that describe how the NHS cover-up culture is a risk to patient safety, and how employment and promotion practices are skewed in favour of those most likely to support the NHS cover-up culture. The NHS cover-up culture, itself, is decomposed and analysed, with examples given as to the methods used to support the hiding of issues, such as patient deaths, from public scrutiny.
