This work is an introduction, survey, and commentary on the three Epistles by the Apostle John and the Epistle of Jude. Presented here is an accurate exegesis of these Epistles related to our Christian living. There is practical and theoretical information woven throughout the Epistles, as the letters are primarily focused on Christian living in a world that desperately needs to be reminded of the urgency of the hour and eternal truths of the Bible.John had eyewitness experience with Christ in human flesh. He had seen Christ, physically touched Him, lived with Him, and carried on conversations with Him; and, in fact, he was a cousin to Jesus. John was present at the Transfiguration, the Upper Room, and the Crucifixion. He was a first-hand witness to the Resurrection, and therefore is an incredible witness to the truth of Jesus Christ and His teachings. These letters were written late in his life to encourage those facing severe persecution for their faith. Dr. Newman reviews these persecutions in some detail; as well as the false teaching of the heretics of the day.Jude identifies himself as the brother of James, the pastor of the Jerusalem church, and therefore, the half-brother of Jesus. He, too, wrote to warn against the heretics who do not speak the truth about who Jesus was. He ends his short letter with the marvelous words of good cheer and hope, a wonderful benediction:"Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy, to the only God our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen."
