Joseph Whynee is suffering from a divorce that he did not want, a job that he deplores and the need to find himself a new place to live in an ultra-competitive rental market. His boss at work is a not-so-furtive alcoholic that makes his life a misery by managing down all her responsibilities to him.
After a disastrous presentation for a new advertising campaign Joseph learns that his position has been made redundant and outsourced remotely to the Philippines.
