Tasty!

A decidedly nifty (if I may so use the word) introduction to the local folklore of New York State. Contains a nice mix of folktales both standard and unique to the region, ballads ditto, proverbs, historical anecdotes, place name etymology, and the like. Some of the chapter introductions are a bit precious, but other than that this is an overall outstanding work.
