New York Liberty

The New York Liberty was founded in 1999 as one of the original eight WNBA teams. The team made a name for itself in the league early on, advancing to the finals in multiple seasons but losing the championship to its opponent each time. For twenty-four years, New York had yet to win the league title despite having some of the best players in basketball--including Brenna Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu. Coached by Sandy Brondello, the team celebrated a long-awaited victory in 2024.
