Changing the system means new rules

All the university professors and all the government think tank experts better hope Martin Janowski's new work stays hidden because he authored a treatise that puts them all to shame. A former Capitol Hill staffer, Janowski no doubt benefits from being away from the so called "Beltway" and all of the accepted conventional wisdon and political correctness. In a few short chapters he tells you how the real system works, why is doesn't work and why change is the thing the Washington power structure fears the most. Not stopping there he then moves on to provide us with a simple formula for reform. The reform proposals are simple and the power structure will scream "no way" but Janowski makes a compelling case that they will work. Using the same reform structure Janowski then explains how the new order can address many of the individual problems of the day. This book is not as long as 'Atlas Shrugged' but if read by enough people in classrooms is could have a similar impact on the next generation. The message is conservatism without the preaching. In light of our current debate over a tax cuts, Janowski's description of the Republican philosphy that government programs cause more problems then they solve is and the way to solve things is to cut funding of government programs by limiting the amount of taxes people pay being akin to cutting off your kids allowance so they won't have anything to play with is perfect. "Republicans remind you of your cranky Dad when he gave you a lecture about manageing your money," Janowski rightly states. His answer concentrates on federal government program oversight, reform and tax simplification. His most controversial proposal drops all of our taxes including social security and medicare taxes and replaces them with a high consumption tax. Simple and something that will no doubt scare many "experts" amd special interest groups to death. Say goodbye to the underground economy and goodbye to our illegal economies and hello to rewarding conservation. Want to pay less tax --consume less. The poor out of neccesity consume less so they pay very little to begin with. On spending Janowski pushes a spending freeze followed with a total program review which asks basic questions like who benefits and is the program of vital interest to the American people? Simple questions but ones many Americans feel are never asked of many programs they hear about. However, Janowski is at his best when he reverts to a 21st century John Galt philosphy of stepping up the the plate with your life and getting involved in todays issues.
