A native American boy and his grandfather find a cave on their reservation. Below Memphis, Tennessee, an archeologist finds the remains of an ancient explore and a small treasure. A couple must iron out problems in their relationship, while another couple faces the difficulties of pregnancy. All lives are changed as nature takes its course. Growing up near family in a rural area of the Southeastern United States, much of Malcolm D. Bailey's early childhood was spent listening to stories told by grandparents, uncles and aunts. He devoted most of his spare time to the demands of the family farm, which gave him a healthy respect for Nature and the great outdoors. Late afternoon and night allowed time for his imagination to develop around things that he knew, loved and feared. The many Native American burial mounds throughout the countryside encouraged his study of the history and lifestyle of the people who lived in the same place in an earlier time. He considers himself fortunate to have grown up in a small town where he was close to many good and caring people. He credits the county librarian with introducing him to a world of enjoyment through reading which created a desire to share the fun of reading and story-telling with as many people as possible.
