New Girl with a Secret

By JP Dumas

Shadows are hunting. Secrets are buried. And the new girl just brought both to town.

Welcome to Blackwood Village-a dreary Scottish town where the stone ruins are ancient, the moss is thick, and dark secrets wait around every corner.

Twelve-year-old Aiden lives for adventure. Whether he's hunting for lost treasure or eyeing locked basement doors, he's always looking for a thrilling mystery to solve. His hyper-logical, safety-obsessed best friend, Iain, prefers color-coded notebooks and staying as far away from danger as humanly possible.

Then Elizabeth walks through the school doors.

With her fiery red hair, fancy trench coat, and sharp London accent, Elizabeth isn't just another transfer student-she looks like she's guarding the crown jewels. And when she starts asking about off-limits corridors and welded-shut basements, Aiden knows he's stumbled upon the ultimate mystery.

When Aiden and Iain follow Elizabeth into the school's forbidden lower levels, they discover the terrifying truth: Elizabeth is the keeper of an ancient silver locket, a dangerous key to another world. Even worse? She's being hunted by the Eaters of Echoes-faceless, shadow-shifting Collectors who will stop at nothing to take it.

To seal the dark forces away for good, the trio must brave haunted forests, decipher ancient ley lines, and make an impossible choice. Can three middle schoolers outsmart creatures older than time itself, or will their small Scottish town be consumed by the silence forever?

Packed with fast-paced action, witty banter, atmospheric Scottish folklore, and unforgettable characters, New Girl with a Secret is the perfect adventure for fans of Percy Jackson, Goosebumps, and spooky, heart-pounding mysteries.
