The Russian Deep Space Vessel "Uri Gagarin" is tracking a very near Earth asteroid when a nuclear explosion occurs on the rock. The electromagnetic pulse disables the Russian vessel. The only ship able to rescue the Russians is the American ship "New Frontiers." The crew of "New Frontiers" need to rescue the Russians and deal with the asteroid before nuclear war breaks out on Earth. This is the sequel to "Exodus."
