Written by Wayne Liquorman with characteristic humor, irreverence and profound insight, this book provides a bold new look at the nature of existence. If one wants to remain in the moment, what does... This description may be from another edition of this product.
It is impossible to say what this book really is. Because there is no doctrine, no dogma, nothing for the mind to latch on to and make into a treasured keepsake. Unlike most offerings in the world of nonduality (Advaita) this book is a terrible one for a seeker who wants to get something for "me" ... some "special-ness' that will elevate her or him to the mountaintop wherefrom that "me" can look out in wonder at all the silly little human pursuits for money, fame, adulation etc. in the humorless and utterly arrogant belief that "at last "I" have MADE IT! I GOT IT". "Pride goeth before a fall". Been there done that got the t-shirt! There is just no lasting peace or joy in the duality of this intense world of apparent opposites. It could be said, and Wayne does say, There IS peace, joy, love. But not for a "me". So Wayne does NOT provide "the answer", but rather steadfastly points the seeking mind to look BACK from the obviousness of the presence of being and action to locate what exactly the SOURCE of all doing, thinking and our being in the world ACTUALLY IS. And what is the cause of suffering? How to look for that requires some sharp pointing. Wayne is a Sage, and his pointing comes form the Space of Eternal Being-knowing, and is, blessedly; devoid of the usual personal agenda that many teachers seem to be pretending not to have but which is still operating in the background. So who or what IS in charge? The "final answer", should it arise via grace, may shock you. "The Truth will set you free but first it will piss you off", as Wayne quotes my friend and first 'est' trainer Dr. Jerry Joiner as saying. Hell, Yes. Been there done that got the t-shirt! So this is a book that I recommend without reservation for those seekers who are tired of pat answers and endless practices that never seem to bear lasting fruit. Because this is a book that does not offer any false hope, but rather, with a little luck (or "grace" if you like) removes the entire Paradigm of subject seeker/object peace. What is left? That, as Wayne might say, is for you to rediscover for yourself. "Never Mind" is, in my opinion, potentially a very powerful guide to one's own deeper investigation into what is truly the source and cause of ALL of this manifest life and living. Is it your own (falsely) assumed egoic sense of an "authoring entity" being "in charge" of what happens? When I met Wayne in 2002 I was damn certain that "I" was 'Charles in Charge'. The challenges to that claim, ingrained by years of unconscious repetition in the mind, were not altogether "pleasant", to the seeking "entity", as Wayne honestly notes in this book! Looking deeply back, back behind our cherished assumptions can be really threatening and scary, but may well be the final blast that shatters the looking glass once and for good. As Wayne often says, "We will just have to see what happens." HIGHLY recommended. With Love and Respect for all, Charlie Hayes (Author of From I Am To I Am, With Lov
