a disturbing true story

This is a disturbing true story of love gone bad resulting in an abusive relationship that turns even darker with accusations of murder resulting in prison time and trials. Ginny was a victim of her husband's abuse and obsessive crazy actions. Her inner strength and perserverance led her to a successful career in the NOW movement, a women's liberation group that grew nationally in the 1970's. Although this story takes place in the 70s and 80s, it replicates today's society where the news onstantly brings to light women's abuse and the corrupt justice system.

Battered wife turned great feminist

Ginny Foat is a hero in every way. She tells of how she was manipulated into marriage at an early age, then came across the abusive John Sidote and endured one battery after another at his hands, finds herself imprisoned falsely, and finally rises to new heights of life as a feminist. As a man, I learned a lot from her, especially the proper treatment of women. In fact, the paperback edition of that book has a comment reading that men ought to be reading this book; I agree with that 100%. Ginny Foat has, as she herself suggested at the end of the book, gone on with her life, and I hope she has had nothing but happy experiences. She nobly and truly deserves that.

True Story of A Real Survivor

This is a compelling read, a true story about a woman's journey from upper-middle-class prominence to inmate in the Los Angeles Sybil Brand Institute for Women, and her trial on murder charges in Louisiana. Ginny Foat is a true American hero, and her story is a cold reminder that those who speak out against the establishment still run the risk of false charges being brought against them, in order to silence their voices.
