A must-have!

This is one of the best books about networking ever written. Filled out of ilustrations, charts and examples, it also comes with a usefull CD-ROM with animations (Avi files) of the examples given in the book. The language used is simple and goes straight to the point. Excellent to those who are studying to the MCSE certification, and also 100% useful to all people who wants to learn more about networking.

The only way to go!!!!!!

I don't understand why people are always thrashing on the Microsoft press books. I am bran new to computers, and I passed the 70-058 exam on the first try because of this book. The first test I took, supporting NT 4.0 Server, I used Exam-Cram. Although I also passed that one on the first try, I didn't do nearly as well as I did on Net-Essentials. I found far more Questions in the exam related to the Microsoft Press book. Everyone is always praising Exam Cram, and personally, I don't understand why. The Exam Cram was O.K. for a little further understanding of the concepts, but that's it. I suggest you get the Microsoft book for every exam.

If you want to pass the Microsoft test, this book is a MUST!

I used this book to study for Microsoft's Exam 70-058. It is a MUST HAVE if you want to pass!

Excellent book for passing the Networking Essentials exam!

I took the Networking Essentials test first and passed it on the first try with this book. I found out that the test had been changed from standard to adaptive testing only 3 days before taking the test. I still went for it and passed. I strongly recommend this book for the exam. I also used the MS Prep exam software.

A Great way to start your MSCE

This is a very well written book which covers all of the fundementals of the Networking Essentials exam. Information is presently clearly and methodically avoiding too much technical jargon in the beginning paragraphs. I would however warn anyone who is using this book along with the Transcender exams - there are a lot of questions in the Transcenders that do not appear in the book, but then again the Transcenders are always much harder than the real exam anyway. The highest mark I got on a Transcender was 755 yet on the real exam I scored 913/1000.
