The National Survey of Fishing, Hunting, and Wildlife-Associated Recreation is a comprehensive source of data on people's use of wildlife resources that has been collected on a national level since 1966 and on a state level since 1975. The first time the Survey collected net economic value data was in 1980. The efforts was repeated, with some changes, in the 1985, 1991, 1996, and 2001 surveys.
