An American submarine company is using a submarine from the 1940s as a testbed for the next generation of technology in batteries, electric motors, and electronics. Its proving grounds are China's claimed waters around Taiwan, hiding in the cold dark waters, and silently stalking China's warships and North Korea's submarines.

China and North Korea are preparing to invade Taiwan, but their warships keep getting sunk by a mysterious attacker.
