This story is about a young man, Larry Eugene Whack Sr. who was born with a genetic condition called sickle cell anemia. It is invisible to the eye. Larry grew up as a seemingly normal kid with no one knowing the physical pain he was privately enduring. He had a unique way of hiding it from family, friends and associates. For Larry, enduring such pain would lead to a number of bad personal decisions but at the same time that pain gave Larry amazing strength to fight the odds and obstacles in his life. However, what becomes clear is the underlying story of his life, Larry's love for his family and mankind. Through it all, Larry learned to harness his pain and use it as a superpower for good by mentoring the youth in his community who are suffering similar battles and sharing the knowledge of his journey with them.
