The title of the novel is 'Needle of Forgiveness''. It is a blend of romance and adventure. The story is set in the 1980's and it takes place in Goa-a former Portuguese colony. In a Hindu dominating country - Goa stands out for its Catholic faith. Maria (Shammai) in her 80's dipped in Catholic faith, longed for forgiveness and Kia, a 12 year old, longed to be with her daddy. Kia works as a needle and stitches her parent's love; about which Shammai thinks that she was the cause for their parting. To go on an adventure was painful - Kia had to leave her mother to fetch her father. It was her dog, Leader who led her when she was lost and found her when she was smuggled. Shammai believed in Kia but she did something which Shammai couldn't believe.
