Nectar of Sinners

He said he'd never be a writer, until he fell in love with one.

Eighteen-year-old Clause Blauvelt wants to meet a cute guy, be taken on dates, and live a normal teen existence. Unfortunately, none of those things seem likely in his immediate future. That's because Clause is the son of Clarissa Blauvelt: the wealthiest fiction publicist in the world, who wants him to write books and become a famous novelist like his prodigy brother, Karniss, and one day help run Spark House, her publishing company.

Unlike Karniss, however, Clause has no interest in the family craft.

The strain of Clarissa's expectations finally becomes too much for Clause, though, when she forces him to accompany her and Karniss to a writer's conference in San Francisco, where he is badgered by writers for autographs and writing tips. At last, breaking under the pressure, Clause rushes onto the roof of the conference hall, where he is reunited with his old friend Casper, who he has not seen in three years. Casper-who was once the world's most famous novelist-gave up writing to live the life of an ordinary teenager.

Casper is everything Clause wants in a boyfriend: he is gorgeous, exciting, and doesn't care about other people's expectations. Best of all, he isn't afraid to say no to Clarissa. Clause doubts Casper would be interested in him-an ordinary boy with no talent-romantically, even if they did used to be friends. Only he is. After a date at the amusement park where Casper is living that ends with a kiss, Clause and Casper begin a passionate relationship that ignites a love of reading and writing in Clause and makes him happier than he's ever been. Clause believes he has found the person he is destined to be with and that he and Casper will spend their lives together, if Casper's mysterious past doesn't get in the way...
