Nazarene Essene Theology

The Nazarene Essenes were one of several sects of Judaism that were active and influential during the Second Temple Era... the era of Yeshua the Messiah (Jesus Christ). With the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls, a product of the Essene community at Qumran, much has been revealed of the beliefs and practices of this sect. The Essenes seem to have been a celibate monastic group holding the same theological views as their more secular branch group the Nazarenes. In my first book, Yeshua: He Will Be Called A Nazarene, I make a case that Yeshua was not only associated with the Sect of the Nazarenes, but was their preeminent leader! Much is known of the competing sects of the Sadducees and Pharisees from the Scriptural text and from ancient and most recent records. The New Testament reveals many differing theological perspectives among these ancient sects. These differences led to conflicts and a rejection of Yeshua as the promised Messiah and Savior of all mankind! While the Dead Sea Scrolls give us tremendous insight into the beliefs and practices of the Nazarene Essenes; insight that invites an identification with the New Covenant Church, the Nazarenes and Essenes themselves did not view their own writings as inspired and authoritative. This privilege was reserved for the writings of the Old and New Testaments... books of the Bible which they themselves wrote!
