I'm no poetry expert, but...

I picked up this book and found the poems really related to me. Ms. Mintzer can paint a picture of real life ups and downs, and I always find myself chuckling or sighing, or nodding and saying "yep, that's the way it is" after reading one of her poems. I'd like to read more of her works.

Gorgeous poetry served up wild, deep and wonderful

Poetry like this only comes along once in a long while, rooted in passion, love, and a deep personal response to the fractured images of life. Mintzer's understanding of what it is to be human, and what it is to be a woman, is served up moment by moment like great chocolate. A delicious lingering read.

The lingering imagery and heartfelt resonance of these poems will stay with you long after you've read them. A friend of mine borrowed my copy to take back to Italy with him, and now I'll have to buy another copy! Poetry of the hightest order....

Natural Selections - a real treasure!

Natural Selections came in the mail this afternoon and I've been reading it off and on since it arrived (while babysitting my 6 year old grandson). I see myself, my mother, my father, my children, my life. It never fails to amaze me how an accomplished author, painter, musician, sculptor, or poet can touch a minute of their life and connect with mine. Natural Selections is a real treasure!
