A work entitled Nation Against State could be expected to address religion, culture, language, and the roots of nationalism. I wish to advise the reader that this book turns in a different direction;... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Gottlieb gives an interesting take on the idea of how many nations deal with diversity. I wouldn't want to play the spoiler, but I will say that some of his ideas are a twist on what many liberals AND conservatives say. This is a good read and will stimulate some very provacative discussions in classrooms. I would not recommend this book for students below a college freshman class (AP or IB Government students could probably handle it).
