Dramatic account of 17th Century spice wars between England and Holland

This spellbinding true story of the conquest of the far-east 'uncivilized' Spice Islands by British and Dutch adventurers, speculators, and soldiers. Often bizarre and even gruesome, yet full of drama and heroics, with a strange and exciting ending, this book kept me turning the pages all the way. High seas adventures, the hardships of war and abandonment on uncharted islands, incredible loyalties and stunning betrayals, and all taken from actual records. Fascinating, well-written, I definitely recommend it.
