Nathaniel Adams Coles, born on March 17th, 1919, Montgomery, Alabama, U.S., known professionally as Nat King Cole, was a jazz pianist and vocalist, who recorded over 100 songs that entered the pop charts, his trio being the model for small jazz ensembles that followed. Cole acted in movies and on TV, where he was the first African American man to host a US series, having also performed on Broadway.
