Veerindar Patwari, an eminent Urdu short story writer, has published more than 250 short stories in leading national and international Urdu literary magazines and has published 13 collections of short stories and dramas. Five of his books have been awarded by various Urdu Academies. He has scripted many radio plays, stage plays, television plays and serials in Urdu and Kashmiri. He has also written screenplay and dialogues for a feature film and a few documentary films. Veerindar Patwari, a retired Civil Engineer by profession, is deeply rooted in his environment and finds his inspiration around him. He suffered severe paralysis of all his four limbs and loss of speech in 1994. Despite his severe physical disability he has published 8 collections of his short stories and received 3 Urdu Academy awards since then which highlights his creativity and dedication to Urdu literature.
