The piece of literature that I am presenting is a collection of poems that I have written over the span of roughly about a year (from 2021-2022). The poems can (and do) stand on their own individually, however, my intention was to weave this collection together into a narrative that focuses on instantaneous gratification for both feelings of love and lust within our ever evolving modern society. All poems have been put in a specific order to show you the erratic and consistent rise and fall of the main protagonist, or antagonist. I wrote these poems with the purpose to let the reader decide whether the narrator of each poem is suffering from heartbreak or is acting narcissistic in nature. There are themes of love, revenge, home, lust, and addiction as well as an overall sense of questioning one's place and morality through their relationships with others and themselves. Overall, Narcissism & Love Letters is centered around one main question that is silently presented to the reader: Is this simply intense love, or narcissistic behavior?
