Bacopa monnieri(Family Scrophulariaceae) known as''Brahmi'is used for centuries as a memory enhancer, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antipyretic, sedative & anti-epileptic agent. Its memory enhancing effects have been attributed to the active constituent bacosides A and B.Considering its demand, tissue culture protocols are developed;however, they are not efficient, rapid and cost effective for production of secondary metabolites.
