Twelve-year-old Nani Sacro loves surfing. She's been skipping school to ride along the waves of the Puerto Rican coast ever since she was three.

But one week after her birthday, she decides to head to the water escaping the feeling of always being the odd one out. But something feels different. Nani soon discovers that her connection to the ocean goes beyond surfing. With the help of her brainiac best friend, Nani realizes she can see underwater.
