Part One: Languages and Applications
Organized into three chapters, this first section discusses the development of the languages and linkages and provides four case studies with nursing care plans applying the linkages between NANDA, NOC and NIC.

Part Two: NANDA, NOC and NIC Linkages
Includes all of the 1999 NANDA-approved nursing diagnoses listed alphabetically with the associated outcomes and three levels (major, suggested, and optional) of interventions.
The diagnoses are arranged in alphabetical order by the first word of the major concept of the diagnosis. The risk for diagnoses appear as a group following the first group of diagnoses and are also listed in alphabetical order.

Part Three: Appendices
2 appendices present definitions for NIC interventions and NOC outcome terms.Accompanying student MERLIN website includes selected common diseases, disorders, and conditions for all populations receiving nursing care with suggested NANDA diagnoses which will allow students to build care plans using the linkages.
