One of the truly great authors you will never find in mom and pop stores.

Most people are not aware of Volodine's work, his deep compasion, visceral brutality, its illumination of probably most of the world's squalor, its conditions of repression. Utilizing unspecificed places and point of view, both Naming the Jungle and his earlier English-translated "Minor Angels" are critical reading for anyone interested in narrative possibility, the writing of survival, and truths confronting most people living in an age of goverment and economic repression. Little is kown of this man's incredible contribution to writings of the 20th century. Take the risk. This will soon be recognized as classic work.
