spellbound

this book was awesome! i couldn't put it down - it was a powerful story that took hold, page by page, i couldn't get enough. it was the right combination - enough sex to keep it interesting, but not so much as it overpowerd the story. i was instantly drawn in with the long island locations. i loved the way the story unfolded. this was a great first book and i can't wait for the next - keep them coming - kudos!

Just the right blend of romance, sensuality and suspense.

I loved Debra's book and am truly looking forward to the next one. It was romantic without being sappy, erotic without being obscene and it has just enough unpredictability, which always makes a story that much more enjoyable. There were tender moments filled with passion and some filled with fear and cruel brutality. I see it as one woman's story of her relationships, the struggle for her survival and the triumph of finding herself in the process.

As someone who reads three novels a week, I love it when I come across a new writer who's works I can devour. I found that in Debra Markowitz and her debut novel, Naked in the Rain. Being a traveler, I would call this the perfect airplane book. Light, easy, but engrossing enough to keep my mind off the flight and into the characters. I read in an interview that Markowitz has two other completed stories to be published in the future, and several others in the beginning states....I cannot wait! If they are anything like the first, I have found a new Nicholas Sparks/Alice Hoffman to follow for, hopefully, years to come.

Sensual and Surprising!

Debra has written a gripping tale of suspenceful romance. Coupled with steamy sex and plenty of surprises, this book will keep you turning the pages to its stunning conclusion. It would make a great movie! Two big thumbs up!

Provocative and sexy

I thought this book was going to be a "chick" book, but it quickly caught my attention and kept it to the end. It was not only well written, but it made me think about past relationships (both family and personal). I must admit, I have never thought about using a belt quite that way, but, I am willing to consider it. Buy this for your girlfriend, wife (or husband/boyfriend) if you are feeling the need of some "extra attention".
