Myths are old, often obscured in the mists of time. But time has not eroded them. Under multiple layers of narratives lie the problems and solutions pertaining to human existence. A curious and rather interesting aspect of mythology is the treatment of ecology or nature. Though terms like Ecosophy and Deep Ecology had their origins in 20th century, myths across different cultures espoused similar views and ideals in the distant past. This work seeks to study the myths of different cultures from the perspective of Deep Ecology and gain a better understanding of the relationship between human community and the ecology.
