Jam-packed with fun facts – some surprising, some missing.

The theme of myth-makers of the West is just that. Divided into topics as: The American West as Mystic Provence Visual Landscapes and the Landscape of Legend Motion Pictures as myth The Western Writer as Fabulist Popular Song in the Service of Myth The Provence of the West in Popular Culture Lots of art and black and white pictures. I was surprised to see Slim Pickens in Stanley Kubrick’s “Dr. Strangelove” as a representative of the West in the chapter “Of Films and Fables.” While you are reading this book, it will bring back memories of old times and movies.
