One mystery that should not be missed!

June Bear Adventures: The Missing Pies If you are an adult reader, this wonderful mystery takes you back to your own childhood, it will let you feel again the thrill of adventure, treasure hunt and having a faithful companion. Your forgotten dreams will come back to life as you dive into this truly engrossing read. If you are still a child or young adult, you will truly enjoy the thrill, presented in this mystery. A great book, not only for children! However, the no doubt very compelling adventure is not all you will receive; at the end of the book you will find a bonus, which is a great gift for anyone who loves nature and the outdoors.

Suspense combined with humor

Told in the first person, Bonafacio Martinez narrates in a humorous and playful voice that endears him to the reader right away. There is plenty of suspense added, and one is eager to go on his adventure with him into the mysterious canyon. Although written for children and young adults, anyone can appreciate the author's research. His apt skill for placing geographic and historic information without slowing the pace is an extra bonus. I enjoyed the descriptions of flora and fauna as the story unraveled, transporting me to the Santa Rita Mountains of Arizona. My son loved the book!

My son's third grade teacher recommended that my son read mystery books as part of his daily reading requirement. My son usually reads Goosebumps but I decided to look for a little variety and picked up Mystery of Madera Canyon. We sat down together with the book and began taking turns reading pages out loud to each other. Soon, my son just kept turning the pages and I listened gleefully with pride at how my son took a real interest in this book. The book obviously appealed to him. I stayed and listened to my son read the book over the next couple of days and noticed that he would laugh and show excitement throughout the book. My son especially enjoyed the friendly banter between the lead character and his dog, Lobo. The witty comments the lead character made throughout this kid's mystery adventure made my son laugh out loud. I haven't seen my son this excited about a book in a while and I was glad I bought the book. Well worth it!

Exciting and Suspenseful!

My name is Ray and I am 8 years old. I really liked this novel because it was very exciting, like when Bonacacio discovered the dead priest. I liked when he hid a spider in his sister's bed! The novel was very easy to read, even though there were some big words in there.
