Implausible

A train gets stuck in blizzard so 4 people decide to get off to walk to the nearest village. The snow has to be 2-3 feet deep and it's a white-out in an unfamiliar place, but off they go. They end up in an empty, unlocked house. The snow keeps falling and more people show up and they keep going in and out (through a window by this time) to walk in the snow for whatever the reason. I'm having a lot of trouble suspending disbelief long enough to finish this book.
